Sea transport
Bulgaria has two major ports on the Black Sea, Burgas and Varna and they both act as East-West transport corridor gateways of Bulgaria. Bourgas is the second largest port in Bulgaria, but it keeps the lead for commercial exchange of goods three fourths of all imported and exported goods. The Bulgarian railways network and the Bulgarian national road system link port Bourgas with major industrial inland points of the Balkans.
Bourgas offers a large port facility, which can accommodate various ships and is close to a modern commercial airport.

Airport transport
The Bourgas Airport activities include international passenger charter flights during the summer season, as well as year-round international and domestic cargo flights and scheduled passenger flights between Burgas and Sofia.
The annual traffic for the period 2000 - 2003 was approximately 10,000 aircraft movements, 700,000 passengers, and 4.000 tons of cargo.
The plan for Burgas Airport envisages basic reconstruction of the cargo terminal, reconstruction of the area around the runway and upgrading of the airport facilities.

Industry
